Fairmat set out to solve one of manufacturing's most persistent contradictions: composite materials are among the highest-performing structural inputs in modern industry, yet almost none are recovered at end of life. Using proprietary AI and advanced robotics, Fairmat transforms composite waste into high-performance recycled materials that match the mechanical properties of virgin inputs at half the cost. The ambition is to establish recycled composites as the default input for performance manufacturing across sports, aerospace, and construction, replacing the extractive linear model with a proven circular alternative.
We invested in Fairmat because the commercial and impact case reinforce each other. With €50M in contracted revenue, marquee customers including Nike, Salomon, and Decathlon, and a carbon savings ratio of 67x per kilogram of composite material recycled, Fairmat has demonstrated that circular materials can compete on both performance and economics at the same time. We partner with the Fairmat team to drive its international expansion and open new industrial markets for recycled composites.
